Today we’re bringing you a closer look at two new patterns, which make great building blocks for steampunk cosplay and more. The Prelude bloomers are an intermediate-level pattern with ribbon and lace trim, and include two different gathered styles as well as a slightly more involved pleated version. The Hitched skirts are easy to sew, but still give you lots of customization options.

Ever find exactly the pattern you need for your cosplay project, only to discover that it’s out of print and hard to find? We’ve had requests to bring back some of the gems from our past catalogs, so we’re going to be re-introducing some old favorites and costume essentials exclusively for Cosplay by McCall’s.
This first group of Vault Collection patterns is selected from our out-of-print McCall’s and Butterick pattern archives, and focuses on basics and foundations. They’re printed on slightly thicker tissue than our regular patterns, so they’ll be a little more durable if you want to keep and re-use them, and they come in re-designed glossy envelopes. We hope you’ll find them a useful addition to your costume repertoire!
