C2E2 recap – lots of photos!

Yaya Han ultimate bodysuit pattern

First copies of Yaya Han’s ultimate bodysuit pattern.

Whew! We just got back from a busy weekend at Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2), where we met lots of amazing cosplayers and sold a few patterns too.

One of the highlights for us was the launch of our new Yaya Han collaboration, including her original peacock costume (M7218) and her ultimate bodysuit (M7217). If you couldn’t make it to the show, you can get them right now at cosplaybymccalls.com. We can’t wait to see what everyone makes with these patterns! Email your photos to photos@cosplaybymccalls.com or tag us on Twitter/Instagram so we don’t miss them.

We also loved seeing all the spectacular costumes that people put together! Incoming photo overload:

More cool costumes. Love all the light-up effects!

Game of Thrones cosplay was everywhere, and we saw so many spectacular interpretations. Several of them used our patterns as the base for their outfits, including M6940, B4827, and B4571. Many had detailed appliqué, embroidery, and beading just like the costumes in the show!

And lots of royalty too!

Of course we made our own costumes as well. Rachel dressed as the White Witch from Narnia. She used Very Easy Vogue pattern V8808 for her dress, dyed the fabric herself, and made her own headpiece. I love how it looks like she carved her dress from a block of ice.

Kathy used M6819 to create her version of Belle from Once Upon a Time.

I made my own interpretation of the new Yaya Han peacock costume, M7218, in shades of red and orange to turn it into a phoenix. Look for a future post with details about how I changed up the pattern to create a different look.

Thanks to everyone we met for making this a great show! What are you going to make with the new Yaya Han patterns?
